Hi,
I don't really know what I should write in this thread...
I started playing Quake when it first came out, I was a fan of Doom prior to that.
Back then a few friends of mine and me used to play Quake on local networks, later we toyed around with QC. We never made anything that made sense, just crazy things, random stuff, extremely powerful and insane weapon mods... nothing anyone would want to play, but we enjoyed trying these things out and playing each other's latest creations
Sadly nothing from that period survived. I had all the mods on a CD-R, but it's gone
Now, many years later, I'm often working night shifts and on my search for something to do when there's no work left, I realized that Quake and all the tools run on my netbook I carry with me all the time.
So I thought, why not play around with the source once more?
And now I'm back playing old PC Games and I love it I hope I can find a few people here who can help me, when I need some help with QC, modelling,... as it has been a very long time since I last did stuff like that.
Oh, and please excuse my terrible Engrish. I'm not a native speaker
The worst thing I can be is the same as everybody else. I hate that.

Welcome! I'm sort of new myself, only joined recently. Your English is actually very good for someone who speaks it as a second language, it's better than some people I know who speak English as a first language!
Take a look around the forum and catch up on some of the posts, feel free to jump in and comment. You can find some awesome upcoming mods and maps here as well.
Quake was the first game in ma life, when I was about 7 (sometime around 1997-1998 ) a computer appeared in our house. It was an old - old Pentium something laptop, at that time I had little use of it, since I didn't even understand what it was for... My cousin (student at that time) was practicaly the only one using it. One day he says he brought a "game" from his friend. From that day on homework never existed in my mind... It was a russian pirated copy of Quake 1-3 (no soundtrack, of course...). Im 21 now thanks to those months I'm pretty good at Computer science and gaming, comparing to everyone around.... Now I'm trying to master programming skill. Pascal and C (and fortunately QuakeC).
i'll always down for some CA, but i'm not an old fart yet.

I just joined because of my sudden interest in Quake.
I actually played Quake years ago but never really got into it as much as Doom. Now however I have really gotten into it and have even started making maps for it (I was already a modder for Doom).
I hope I will enjoy my stay here!

Just thought I'd let everyone know a friend told me about this place and I decided to join. The first time I played Quake was with my older brother on the N64. I since picked up the computer version two or so years ago and I got Toetag a few days ago and am trying my hand at mapping =P
